Rebels Kill Two from Turkish Army

Ankara : The Turkish Army reported new casualties in recent clashes with guerrillas of the illegal Workers ó Party of Kurdistan (PKK).

The Kurdish news agency Firat says the Army lost two men and had more than ten wounded in Wednesday night combat in Sirnak province, near the border with Iraq, where the Turkish Army has led an offensive since February.

The Chief of Staff confirmed new raids in Northern Iraq against alleged members of the PKK, a political group founded in 1973 that in 1984 took up armed struggle for Kurdish autonomy in Turkey.
