Kathmandu : Nepal’s Speaker of the Interim Parliament Subas Chandra Nembang has endorsed the final plan for logistical arrangements for the Constituent Assembly, due to meet in the main hall of the Birendra International Convention Center in capital Kathmandu in around three weeks, THT Online reported on Saturday.
“I gave final nod to the plan. Now the preparations would move ahead at a war-footing,” the Speaker told the leading website.
A couple of committees formed to oversee the preparations for the CA had floated a few arrangement plans — including re-arrangement of seats to accommodate 601 CA members, dais, microphones, recording systems and arrangements for media persons and visitors, according to the Speaker.
“Simple re-arrangement would be made in the existing seat pattern in the ground floor of the main hall for the CA members and there would be sitting arrangements for the visitors and media persons on the balcony,” the Speaker added.
The first meeting of the CA is due to convene 21 days after the final results of the election are declared.
All parliamentary sessions used to be held in the Gallery Hall of the parliament building in Singha Durbar so far, but the CA could not be held there as it can accommodate less than 400 members.
