Bhopal: The MP government has finally formed the State Wakf Board by nominating remaining members of the committee.
The 13-member committee includes Gufran-e-Azam and AG Qureshi, former MPs; Arif Aqueel, Congress MLA from Bhopal North; Hamid Qazi, NCP MLA from Burhanpur; Mutawalli Munir Ahmed of Indore; Mutawalli Riyaz Ahmed of Ujjain. Five nominated members are Tabassum Zaidi, officer of the rank of deputy secretary; qazi Saeeduddin of Sujalpur and Maulana Razi-ul-Hasan from Bhopal are the religious scholars; Abdul Shafique from Bhopal and Moinuddin Ansari from Burhanpur are members of social organisations. Committee also includes two elected members of the bar council.
Committee members will decide who will be the chairman of the Board.
In January, State High Court had ordered the govt. to form the Board within three month.
