Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has decided to launch schemes for the welfare of the Muslims. The plan includes help for madrasa teachers and the students.
The plan approved on Wednesday will provide for a pension scheme for madrasa teachers. Muslims girls going for degree and post-graduate studies will get scholarships ranging from Rs. 3000 to 5000. Muslims students attending coaching classes for competitive examinations will be given stipends to help their stay in hostels.
The waqf board and madrasa teachers will jointly contribute towards the pension scheme.
