Kabul : The US air force killed Afghan civilians again in air attacks against houses in the southern Uruzgan province, Pentagon sources reported on Monday in this capital.
According to a military press release, eight elderly people, women and children, and 25 supposed insurgents that were in a building, died in that bombing in Khas Oruzgan district. Three other civilians were wounded.
According to that report, the air attack on Sunday followed a clash among insurgents and troops and US-led Afghan collaborators.
The Defense Ministry also reported on Sunday that another bombing by the US air force killed 19 Afghan civilians a nd wounded 12 in Kapisa province.
Civilians are victims of air attacks and the expeditionary troops in Afghanistan that are causing increasing repudiation among the Afghan population.
President Hamid Karzai and other authorities demanded that the United States and the NATO avoid the death of civilians, considering it contributes to undermine the support for the government.
Karzai said the struggle should not be fought in Afghan villages. He highlighted that the only result from the air bombings is the death of civilians, and asserted that this is not the way to fight terrorism.
More than 3,000 people, mostly civilians, have died since January, due to the violence in this central Asian Islamic nation.
