Cairo : Dr. Ihsanoglu said the OIC had contributed to entry of ten trucks loaded with humanitarian assistance to Gaza, and the relief assistance was distributed to the refugees through the UNRWA.
He urged the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary General to work for ending Israel’s continuous aggression and to take the required measures for the protection of the Palestinian people.
“The current happenings in the Palestinian territories are a pity, ” he said.
Criticizing the existing disunity among the Palestinians, he said this disunity will never serve the Palestinian cause.
On the Iraqi issue, he said the OIC has succeeded in convening the first meeting between Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq.
He noted that several representatives of the OIC had visited Iraq and participated in the conferences of dialogue there.
