Manama : Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini on Saturday welcomed the idea for formation of the Iran-Bahrain Journalists and Reporters Friendship Association and hoped for its materialization.
“Formation of the Association and similar associations such as the Iran-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group can help bring views of Iranian and Bahraini people and officials closer to each other,” said Hosseini.
He made the remark on the sidelines of a dinner reception arranged in his and his delegation’s honour by Iran’s ambassador to Bahrain Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
Hosseini said he and his delegation are visiting Bahrain on the initiative of Iranian and Bahraini foreign ministers and the ministers’ agreement on the need for exchange of visits by the Iranian and Bahraini mediapersons.
He hoped for continuation of such visits in the future and for extension of such visits, involving the two countries’ elites, thinkers and scientists.
