Gaza : Israel said it would after midnight Thursday be cutting fuel supplies to Gaza Strip by five percent per week, according to the Israeli radio.

It said the Israeli government approved the decision to trim oil supplies to Gaza because of continued rocket attacks by the Palestinian militants.

Hamas military wing, Izzuddin Al-Qassam brigades, said it fired two rockets at Israeli town of Sderot on Thursday night.

It said in a statement its fighters launched two “Qassam” rockets at the town east of Gaza.

The operation took place despite heavy air sorties over northern Gaza.

Meanwhile, the brigades said one of its fighters died of wounds he sustained earlier Thursday.

In related development, head of Iran’s Red Crescent Society Masoud Khatami said on Thursday that Iran is ready to send relief aid to Gaza Strip through Egypt and is sill awaiting to receive green lights from Egyptian officials.

Speaking to reporters, he said Egypt is now regarded as the only gate to send humanitarian relief aid to Gaza where people are suffering from shortages of medicines, foodstuffs, electricity and the likes.

As soon as the Egyptian officials announce their approval, the Iranian relief aid would be dispatched to Gaza Strip through that country, he said.
