Lebanon Adjourns Parliament Again

By Prensa Latina

Beirut : Lebanese Parliament session to elect the president was adjourned for 14th time because of the persistent differences between the opposition and parliamentarian majority, despite Arab League mediation.

The meeting that was foreseen for Monday was postponed because both parts disagree with creating a national unity government and portfolios distribution, referred the official communique.

The announcement was issued a few hours after the Pan-Arab bloc’s president Amir Mussa left the country after his meeting with the opposition and parliamentarians.

Mussa did not give any declaration but showed his moderate optimism and announced he will come back soon, reported Radio Lebanon station.

The Arab League’s proposal is focused on three main aspects: the approval of a presidential candidate by consensus, the creation of a national unity government and the Electoral Law’s Reform.
