Madrid : A month before Spain’s elections, local personages joined forces in support of the reelection of the leader of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) and president of the government, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
The Platform for Support for Zapatero (PAZ), made up of more than 2,000 people from all walks of life, will be presented today in Madrid, a month before the March 9 elections.
The list of participants includes world-renowned personages such as singers Joan Manuel Serrat, Miguel Bose, Joaquin Sabina, Ana Belen, Victor Manuel and Fran Perea, and artist Concha Velasco.
It was reported that scientists, intellectuals, athletes, rectors, university professors and entrepreneurs also joined the platform.
Several of those personalities appeared in a video broadcast on Friday to support Rodriguez Zapatero’s candidacy.
