United Nations : More than two million people in Somalia live in a vulnerable situation and are in need of humanitarian assistance, UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported.
According to OCHA, the migration of people who flee Mogadiscio to escape armed violence among military men of Union of Islamic Courts and the provisional government backed by Ethiopia troops is also worrying.
Migration in the Somali capital has doubled during the last six months, reaching more than 700,000, OCHA report indicated.
Those people settle in the poorest areas of the country, OCHA added.
It also pointed out that violence in Somalia has alarmingly restricted the work of humanitarian workers.
OCHA reported that until the moment, violence in the neighboring country of Kenya has had a minimum impact in the humanitarian operations of Somalia.
