New Delhi: The Women and Child Development Ministry has chalked out a plan to provide leadership and skill development training to Muslim women to improve their socio-economic status.
Muslim women who rank very low on literacy and employment participation will get training under the PM’s 15-point programme. Training will provide them with confidence and skills to find jobs, start their own business, and interacting with government agencies.
The scheme run by Women and Child Development Ministry is called the ‘Leadership Development for Life, Livelihood, and Civic Empowerment of Minority Women.’ Scheme to be launched in five states is expected to reach 35,000 to 50,000 women.
Scheme is expected to deploy non-governmental organizations for training and reaching out to Muslim women. Corporate sector is also to participate in training SCs/STs and minority groups to help their entry in organized and unorganized sectors.
