Islamabad : Iranian Foreign Minister Manoucher Mottaqi on Friday offered heartfelt condolences over the death of Pakistan People’s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto, declaring her death as an attempt to destabilise the country and derail the ongoing democratic process.
“Terrorists had tried to shake the stability and unity of Pakistan,” he said. Manoucher Mottaqi paid visit at the Central Secretariat of the Party here and laid a wreath at place devoted for the visitors.
He said that entire nation and the government of Iran would remember her as greater friend and well-wisher of their country.
The envoy said that in the wake of her death, whole region had suffered badly.
He acclaimed that in her premierships, both the countries had enjoyed best ties. He expressed sympathy on the behalf of his nation and government with late Benazir’s mother, children and her husband Asif Ali Zardari.
He also conveyed his sentiments and condolence to Asif Ali Zardari in a telephone call.
Senator Dr.Babar Awan, Senator Anwar Baig and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
