Memorial service for Sikh mystic Sunday

New Delhi : A memorial service for Baba Virsa Singh, a Sikh mystic who passed away Dec 24, will be held here Sunday afternoon.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Moti Lal Vora and veteran journalist Kuldip Nayar are among the dignitaries expected to join religious leaders, intellectuals and foreign guests in paying tributes to the guru, according to a spokesperson of Gobind Sadan, the organisation founded by him.

Baba Virsa Singh was 74 when he breathed his last after a brief illness.

Though rooted in the Sikh tradition, he did a lot to further interfaith dialogue and communal harmony.
