The Indian Muslims Blog (www.IndianMuslims.in), an opinion website run by a group of young Indian Muslims, recently celebrated its second anniversary. Founded on 1st January 2006, the blog has come a long way. The blog was adjudged as the Best Group Blog at the 4th Annual Brass Crescent Awards. It was also a nominee for the Best Group/Community Blog at the Indian Weblog Awards.
With more than 35,000 page views every month and growing, it is poised for a higher level. Muslim as well as non-Muslim Indians visit the website regularly. The idea behind the website is to engage fellow Indians in a constructive dialog about pertinent issues. More than 20 writers, most of them from a non-journalistic background, contribute articles to the blog.
To commemorate the anniversary, a compilation of the best writings published on the blog during 2007 was released.
