Tehran : Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Manuchehr Mottaki Thursday announced the opening of a new round of bilateral negotiations with Kuwait and said it is the result of the political willingness of both governments.

Mottaki extolled the role played by the heads of States of the two countries in strengthening mutual exchange.

As part of those activities, the Kuwaiti vice prime minister and minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheij Mohammad Al Salim Al Sabbah, is in a visit in this capital heading a delegation to exchange political and economic topics, said IRNA news agency.

Last December 24, Al Sabbah announced the interest of his country to strengthening links with Iran and stressed the importance for the Persian Gulf nations to increase relations with Tehran.

The visit of the Kuwaiti Foreign minister to Tehran is part of an Iranian government strategy to strengthening exchange with the countries of the region.
