Mumbai : Mumbai Police Friday shot dead two gangsters in a shootout at Kalyan suburb outside the city limits.
Acting on a tip-off, the crime branch sleuths reached the spot where the gangsters were meeting a local builder.
Joint Commissioner (Crime) Rakesh Maria told IANS: “When our officers reached the area, gunshots were heard from the building. Seeing the police, the gangsters opened fire on them too.”
In retaliation, the police fired back and killed two of the gangsters. The gangsters are speculated to be from gangster Bunty Pandey’s group.
Pandey, who started his career with underworld don Chota Rajan, is on the most wanted persons list of the Mumbai police.
