Baghdad : US warplanes launched new fierce bombing against civil areas in the southern outskirts of this capital, according to military sources.
The occupation troops reported that about five tons of munitions hit alleged resistance bunkers in Arab Jabur area.
According to the release, the military B-1 jets dropped 19 bombs in that zone, but no information on the number of victims was provided.
On January 10, the US air force staged a mass attack against the same locality, which The Council of Ulemas of Iraq called a horrible killing.
Clergymen confirmed that the target of the bombing, which left tens of dead and wounded, was a civilian area and not an insurgency post.
Military and media sources did not release the official number of killed victims and material damage in that attack.
The Council blamed the US for all the consequences that could derive from those attacks against civilians, and called the Arab League to protest against those actions.
