New Delhi : Mohammad Halim Khan has been appointed as the new Secretary of Central Information Commission (CIC). An IAS officer of 1977 batch from UP cadre, Khan will succeed current CIC Secretary Rita Sinha. Prior to this posting, Mr. Khan was a Joint Secretary and Additional Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Defence.
The post of CMD of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Parvez Dewan, has been upgraded to the rank and pay of an Additional Secretary. Dewan is a 1977 batch IAS officer from Jammu and Kashmir cadre.
Bevis A Coutinho, a 1977 batch IAS officer from Karnataka, has been promoted and shifted to Agriculture Ministry as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation. He was serving as Joint Secretary (Union territory) in the Home Ministry.
