Mild quake hits Bengkulu waters

Bandarlampung, Indonesia : An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale shook Bengkulu waters early Thursday, ANTARA reported.

The epicenter of the temblor which struck at 02.23 a.m. was located 74 km north-west of Mukomuko in Bengkulu province at a depth of 10 km, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) said on Thursday.

The quake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami, the agency said.
