Washington : The United States on Wednesday said it was concerned over the tens of thousands of Palestinians crossing into Egypt from Gaza yesterday after an explosion blew a hole in the wall of the separation barrier.
State Department Deputy Spokesman Tom Casey told reporters in Washington yesterday that the United States is “concerned about the situation and frankly we know the Egyptians are as well.”
Thousands of Gazans, cut off by an Israeli blockade from food and water, stormed into Egypt yesterday morning. Casey said David Welch has been in discussions with the Egyptians about the situation.
