Ramallah : A Palestinian militant group on Monday refused to stop firing rockets into Israel in exchange for Israeli resumption of fuel supplies to the Gaza Strip and easing an over six-month siege.
“It is unacceptable to halt the rockets and freezing the resistance activities in trade for opening the crossings, providing power and allowing fuel into Gaza,” said Abu Yousef, a spokesman for the pro-Hamas Popular Resistance Committees (PRC).
The PRC believes that power and the freedom of movement were “natural needs of the people and the fact of the struggle against the occupation should not be confined to getting these needs,” said Abu Yousef.
Stressing the rocket attacks will keep on as long as the Israeli offensive in the Palestinian territories is going on, Abu Yousef said, stressing that a ceasefire can only be accepted when Israel recognizes the Palestinian people’s rights.
Israel on Sunday resumed fuel supplies to the Gaza Strip after a High Court decision called off earlier procedures to shorten the shipments in response to the Palestinian rocket-fire.
