Banjul : Gambian President Yakha Jammeh blamed the western countries for Zimbabwe’s harsh economic situation.
Jammeh said Robert Mugabe’s win at the runoffs was legitimate and all Africa should defend him because somehow it is a lesson for every state in this continent.
He said Africa should reject the UK/US-led campaign, and added that the historic leader is not to blame for the people’s current situation.
Jammeh also described opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai as a “Western puppet”.
Tsvangirai withdrew from race to the runoffs, claiming threats against him and his followers.
