France: Near 300 Cars Burnt, 121 Arrests

By Prensa Latina,

Paris : The traditional riots on France’s National Celebrations have left at least 297 cars burnt and 121 arrests.

Provisional Interior Ministry report say the number of cars gutted by the flames was larger than last year’s 266, with 211 in Paris plus 102 arrests.

Car burning reminds the violent riots of 2005 due to the death of two Muslims at Cliché-suos-Bois that were chased by the Police and died electrocuted inside a booth.

The 2005 wave of protests spread through out the suburbs and cities like Sena, Marne, Lille, Ruán, Dijón and Marsella, among other, and to Belgium, Denmark, Holland and Switzerland.
