Ahmedinejad calls for int”l front to achieve world peace, justice

By KUNA,

Tehran : Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad called here Tuesday for forming a front to achieve world peace and justice.

Speaking at the opening of the 15th round of meetings of the Foreign Ministers of member states of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), Ahmedinejad said that NAM members could reduce conflicts in the world and take big steps towards achieving peace and justice.

He hoped that NAM meetings would benefit the member states and contribute in activating their economic energies and defending countries whose interests are attacked by others.

He criticised the United Nations (UN) and the UN Security Council (UNSC) for following the demands of the great powers and ignoring the rights of others, adding that they are unable to solve conflicts and issues like the Palestinian cause.

The super powers are violating human rights, running secret prisons, and spying on their people on the pretext of combating terrorism, he also remarked.

At the same time, those countries accuse other nations of violating human rights, he noted.

On another point, Nejad condemned the issue of an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah is representing his state at the meetings which are attended by representatives of 114 countries and Arab League Secretary General Amr Mousse.
