By Xinhua,
Amman : Jordan on Sunday voiced full refusal to Israeli plans on more settlements, which it said violates the international resolutions and poses threat to peace efforts.”
The Israeli attempts to create new reality on the ground are clear violations of the international law and the Israeli commitments to the roadmap, which refuses any unilateral actions that might affect the final status issues,” Nasser Judeh, Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications said in a statement carried by the official Petra news agency on Sunday.
He asked Israel to immediately freeze all settlement activities, including the so-called “natural growth” of existing settlements. This remarks came after Israeli Housing Ministry released a bid on Sunday for the construction of more than 800 apartment units in east Jerusalem.
“The settlements issue is one of the final status issues that would be tackled during the negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis, according to Annapolis peace meeting,” said Judeh. The continuation of settlement expansion would negatively affect efforts to reach a just solution that ensures an independent Palestinian state, he added.
