Ramallah : U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice announced Wednesday that negotiations between Palestinians and Israeli would resume.
During a press conference with Israeli counterpart Tzipi Livni, Rice said that both parties agreed to resume talks, adding that peace would not exist until rocket attacks against Israel were stopped.
Rice also blamed Hamas for using citizens as human shields, expressing concerns towards the human crisis in the Gaza Strip.
She revealed that the U.S. is to donate a sum of USD 150 million to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to help relief efforts there.
Livni on her part claimed that Israeli military operations were only to protect Israelis against rocket attacks.
