Geneva : A resolution project firmly condemning the escalation of Israeli aggressions in the Gaza Strip circulated today in the UN Council of Human Rights (CHR).
The text was presented by the Non Aligned Nations that Cuba presides at the moment, the Arab League, the Islamic Conference headed by Pakistan and the African group, Prensa Latina reported.
It will be a new attempt to place Israel on the dock during this Seventh Session of the CHR that began this week and will continue until March 28.
The accusation is based on the constant transgression of human rights by the Tel Aviv government through military attacks and incursions in occupied Palestine territories and very especially concerning the massacres perpetrated in the Gaza Strip.
Cuba, through its ambassador in Geneva, Juan Antonio Fernandez, as head of the Non Aligned Movement pushed ahead the debate programmed originally for the third week of March.
The project is summarized in six points of repudiation for the Israeli military actions concentrating on the massacre of dozens of civilians including women, children and new born babies.
It demands taking to court the authors of this indiscriminate bombings against these territories and calls for an international answer to force Israel to halt its warmongering and to be condemned.
At the same time it calls on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the world to take concrete steps to protect Palestinian civilians and implement a rejection resolution against the warring activity of the Zionist regime.
The day before, UNRWA (the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees) said that the situation in the Gaza Strip is dramatic due to the many dead and wounded, lack of fuel and water and destruction of schools.
UNRWA spokeswoman, Elena Mancusi-Materi informed that in the past two days 60 patients with serious burns and amputations have crossed the border in Egypt through the Rafah pass.
