Irbil : Two Iraqi civilians were killed and five others were injured in a suicide car bomb attack in midtown Mosul in northern Iraq, a spokesman for the Iraqi military operation command in Nineveh said.
Brigadier Khalid Abdul-sattar told KUNA Sunday that a parked vehicle was detonated by remote control in the Kournaish area midtown Mosul.
The explosion killed two nearby civilians and injured five others, and caused damage to nearby vehicles, he added.
On another front, a source in the Iraqi military said a security unit raided a terrorist hideout south west of Kirkuk resulting in the arrest of a suspect in charge of financing attacks in the Al-Qaeda organisation.
During interrogation the suspect admitted to his role in coordinating various attacks against coalition forces, the source pointed out.
