New Delhi : It was cloudy and overcast throughout the northern plains from Chandigarh to Guwahati Thursday as the region enjoyed another day of breezy and pleasant weather.
The national capital was again a comfortable 30 degrees Celsius. It was a kind of weather that drove people in hordes to parks, and the picnic spots around the city were packed to the brim.
Even though it appeared it could rain anytime, the rain god held back. Though there was an odd sprinkle here and there, but not enough to be called a drizzle. The day’s low was 16 degrees Celsius – as it has been for most of the last week.
Most parts of the northern plains had similar weather, with the forecast for isolated rain or thundershowers for some parts of the region. The Met Office has forecast that the present trend could continue for the next 4-5 days from Thursday.
The weather office has also forecast rain or thundershowers for parts of southern peninsula and northeastern parts.
Srinagar continued to mark a huge difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures as in the past few days. The day’s high was nearly 20 degrees while the low was three degrees.
The following were the maximum and minimum temperatures and rainfall in major cities for the 24 hours till Thursday morning, with figures in brackets denoting deviations from the average.
