Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh assembly Speaker Ishwar Das Rohani Friday asked the government to inquire into an incident of alleged strip searching of girls of a hostel in Mhow town of Indore district.
The matter was raised by Arif Aqueel of the Congress who alleged that girls were subjected to strip search after a dirty cloth was found in the hostel and demanded action against the guilty in this regard.
Rohani asked the government to inquire into the matter. When Aqueel and other Congress members insisted on discussion on the matter through call attention motion, the speaker assured Aqueel that the matter would be taken up at some other time.
Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesperson K.K. Mishra Thursday demanded a high level inquiry into the strip search of 40 girls of the hostel and also said that the party would approach the state Women’s Commission in this regard.
