Darbhanga: Changes come with change of guard, almost everywhere but not in Bihar or at lease for madrasa teachers. When will Bihar’s government undertaking madrasa teachers get justice is a question Muslims are concerned over nowadays.
The salary these madrasa teachers get is not even equivalent to that of a peon in a government office. Two years ago state Minister for Human Resource and Development, Virshin Patel, had promised, in a programme organised at Millat College here, that these madrasa teachers would get justice and their salary would be revised. Now it seems that the promise was made only to be forgotten.
Who resides at 1 Anne Marg hardly matters for these teachers, given their unending miseries. They are still waiting for the day when their problems will be solved.
If madrasa teachers are facing difficulties on account of the government’s negligence then students are bound to be affected. Government’s lethargic attitude has put the future of the students studying in madrasas at stake.
Another example of promise-and-forget attitude of powers that be is the Maulana Mazharul Haq University. The establishment of the university was promised years and years ago. But it is still gathering dust in files. It is yet to see light of day.
When will Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic, Persian University take its original shape is a question at the centre of discussion among the minority community. An announcement of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development on 13th March said university would get its original shape in one year. This is not the first announcement about the establishment of the university. In the pre-Nitish Kurmar era, such promise, particularly at election times, was made more than one time. Result? No change.
