Skardu : Pakistan Day and Jashne-Noroze would be celebrated in Skardu and Ghanche districts of Baltistan region with great zeal and enthusiasm.
A special meeting in this regard was held here under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Zaraq Mirza which was attended by government officials, public representatives and sports organizations representatives.
The meeting approved colorful programme for Pakistan Day (March 23) and Jashne-Noroze.
According to the programme, a big rally would be taken out from High School No.1 which will reach at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A public meeting would also be held at the Yadgar. Guard of honour and laying of floral wreath ceremony would be held at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay rich tributes to the martyrs of independence war fought in 1948.
A mushaira would also be held in Skardu under auspices of Bazme-Elmo-Fun Skardu. Polo and volleyball matches would also be played on March 23. Skardu Bazar is being illuminated in this connection.
Colorful programmes are also being arranged in Ghanche district to celebrate the day.
