Moscow : The new Russian president Dmitri Medvedev recognized Wednesday the economic potential forged in the last few years is a resource to locate the country among world leaders.
In his speech during the swearing-in ceremony at the Kremlin Great Palace, he emphasized that the only opportunity for Russia to become an advanced nation is to start from its powerful economic base with stable development.
Medvedev promised to provide the country”s security not only through law but with true fulfilment by the State.
He said it was important to boost civic and economic liberties and rights as the highest values which determine the sense of government activity.
At the end of his brief speech to over 100 national and foreign guests Medvedev appreciated former President Vladimir Putin, whom he has known for more than 17 years..
He promised to work with total dedication, as president and person, for the magnificence of his country.
Medvedev was born on September 14, 1965 in Leningrad, where he graduated in Law in 1987.
Between 1999 and 2002 he was the Presidential Administration Deputy chief and led the entity since 2003.
He was elected First Vice president in November, 2005 and won presidential elections late in March with 70.28 percent of votes.
