Harare : The government party and the opposition in Zimbabwe contested last March 29 legislative elections’ results in 50 percent of the 210 districts of the country.
The National African Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) in power in Zimbabwe rejected counting in 53 centers while the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) did it in 52.
Those in charged of receiving and counting the votes have revised the ballots in 23 district suspicious of fraud.
Legislative elections have successfully finished for MDC that will count with 109 seats in the National Assembly against 97 for ZANU-PF but with tie for the Senate with 30 seats for each.
Tensions have grown up in this country when Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) waited for more than a month to announce the results of the contest for the presidency.
In this last one there was not absolute winner since opponent Morgan Tsvangirai with 47 percent of votes and Head of State Robert Mugabe (43.8) were bellow 50 points percent necessary.
ZEC must call for a second electoral round for the presidency.
The MDC is analyzing if it will present a candidate for the coming stage.
