Tehran : Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini expressed regret on Monday over a killer quake in China which claimed many lives.
According to the Foreign Ministry Media Department, Hosseini expressed his deep regret as well as the Iranian government and people’s and expressed sympathy with the Chinese government and the families of victims and prayed for immediate recovery of the injured.
A devastating quake with a magnitude of 7.8 struck China’s Sichuan province on Monday, less than 100 km (60 miles) from the provincial capital of Chengdu.
The quake was felt across much of China and as far southwest as Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, some 3,300 km (2,050 miles) away, where office buildings swayed for several minutes.
