Beirut : The Arab League commission that will mediate in the Lebanese political crisis is trying to find a negotiated solution since Wednesday to clashes between parliamentary opposition and deputy Saad Hariri’s supporters.
After a week of armed confrontations and Tuesday’s mobilization of the national army to restore security, the mission is trying to achieve understanding to prevent the deterioration of a political push Lebanon into war.
The commission was created in an emergency meeting last Sunday and is made up of foreign affairs ministers from Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Yibuti and the general secretary of the League Amr Musa.
It is presided by Qatar prime minister and foreign minister Hamad Bin Yasem Bim Yaber al Zani.
According to Al Akhbar newspaper the stay of this delegation is the last opportunity for a commitment or chaos.
The program of the mediator delegation of the Arab League includes talks with the Parliament President Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Fuad Siniora.
