Badawi visits Buddhist temple

By IANS,

Kuala Lumpur : Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi paid a visit to a 113-year-old Buddhist temple here and remarked: “No religion asks their followers to create trouble or problems for people of other faiths.”

Badawi was only the second Malaysian prime minister to visit the Maha Vihara at Brickfields. Then prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman visited the shrine in 1967.

Twenty-two percent of Malaysia’s 28 million people practice different sects of Buddhism, Hinduism and Christianity.
