Bhubaneswar : Orissa historian and archaeologist Karuna Sagar Behera died at his residence in state capital Bhubaneswar, family sources said Wednesday.
Behera died Tuesday night after he suffered a heart attack. He authored several articles and books on history, culture, art and archaeology of Orissa.
His books include “Konark, The Heritage of Mankind” in which he has discussed various aspects of the temple including its mythology, architecture, sculptures and its conservation.
Born Dec 5, 1939, Behera’s PhD thesis was on the Konark sun temple.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
