Islamabad : At least eight security men were killed and several injured in a suicide attack near a check post in Pakistan’s tribal region Sunday, according to a TV channel report.
The blast occurred near a check post in Jandola, a town of South Waziristan tribal agency on the Afghan border, according to Geo TV channel.
Sources said the powerful blast was heard far and wide. No details of the incident were immediately available.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
South Waziristan tribal agency is a stronghold of Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud.
