Pakistan”s lower house condemns US attacks

Islamabad : The National Assembly of Pakistan Thursday strongly condemned the US attacks in bordering tribal region while the Foreign Office lodged a formal protest.

Speaking on the point raised by several legislatures during Thursday’s Assembly session, Minister for Provincial Coordination, Mian Raza Rabbani, said that Pakistan was a sovereign state, which can defend its territorial integrity.

He said the issue of cross-border attacks has been raised by the country’s leadership with top US administration officials and twice the US envoy has been summoned to the Foreign Office and given a demarche.

He said further that National Security advisor Mehmood Ali Durrani was visiting the hit areas and on his return would brief the Prime Minister and discuss plans for dealing with the issue.
