Bogota : Seven people were killed Wednesday in a mudslide in southwestern Colombia, EFE reported.
The incident occurred near the Colombian town of Miranda. Rescue officials said seven people, including a child, were killed in the mudslide, while four others were missing.
The avalanche was caused by heavy rain, officials in Cauca province said.
Meanwhile, weather officials have issued warnings of flooding in the country’s Magdalena and Cauca river basins.
According to officials, mudslides have killed 41 people in different parts of the country in the recent past.
