EU condemns Mumbai terror attacks

Brussels : The European Union has expressed its shock and strongly condemned the terror attacks in Mumbai that killed at least 78 people and injured hundreds.

A statement by the EU Presidency issued late Wednesday said the EU is aware of the love of the Indian people to democracy, against which such terror attacks are directed.

“We share the sorrow of the Indian nation and are at its side at this tragic moment,” the statement noted, according to EuAsiaNews.

The EU condemned taking hostage the guests in Taj and Trident hotels in Mumbai by terrorists.

Sympathising with the families of the victims, the EU expresses condolence and solidarity with the Indian authorities and the state of Maharashtra in view of these tragic circumstances.
