Pathan happy with team adapting to conditions

Port Elizabeth : India all-rounder Irfan Pathan said Kings XI Punjab is quickly adapting to the South African conditions and raring to go for the Indian Premier League’s second edition starting April 18.

Pathan is impressed with how the lesser-travelled Indian players were adapting to local conditions.

“This is my third trip here. So whatever experience I have, I’ve already started passing on to a few Indian guys and Ive seen the difference already,” said Pathan.

“There was a big difference between the first and second net practice we had here. The batsmen became more comfortable with the local fast bowlers. I am pretty happy with their progress,” Pathan was quoted as saying in The Herald.

The Kings XI have slowly begun gathering here. Australians Simon Katich and Burt Cockely arrived Wednesday night.

Cockely is an up-and-coming fast bowler from New South Wales who has been identified as a future star of Australian cricket.

Kings XI coach Tom Moody said Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara and Ravi Bopara are expected to arrive in the weekend along with superstar Yuvraj Singh.
