Mumbai: In order to provide a guideline to the students, a two-day ‘Vision 2015’ fest is being held from April, 11, 2009 at Saboo Siddik College in Byculla.
Various Muslim organizations like Anjuman-e-Islam, KAWISH, Association of Muslim Professionals, Students Solidarity Forum, Urdu Head Masters Association and Vidharbh Welfare Association are organizing the fest.
Amir Idris, one of the co-coordinators of the fest told TwoCircles.net, ‘We want to provide a direction to the education in the Urdu medium schools’ students in their future academic life. Since, most of the students do not know what the professionals have to do, they abstain form choosing even some important professions. We are trying to provide them with a platform where they can directly interact with the experts of different fields and know their ‘job profiles’.’
The fest will be inaugurated on 11th April 2009 at 9:30 am in Alma Latifi Hall of M.H.Saboo Siddik College and will be presided by Mr. Sámi Khatib, president Anjuman-e-Islam, a well known academic organization of Mumbai.
Eminent personalities like Mr.K.L.Prasad, Joint Commissioner Law & Order, Mr. S.R.Waghode, Ex-Deputy Director of Education Maharashtra state and Mrs. Alka Borade, Vocational Guidance officer Maharashtra State, are expected to grace the function.
The fest will comprise different types of programs to guide the students such as Educational Dramas, Career Exhibition, and Youth Choice-Quiz & Career Talk etc.
Being asked why they have chosen Urdu language for the fest while English medium students are also participating in it Mr Idris told, ‘There are nearly 150 Urdu medium schools in Maharasthra. Almost all the students understand light Hindustani.’ He added that seeing the public response even before starting the fest we intend to continue holding such fests in future.
