Kochi: The Muslim Education Society has begun a helpline service to help students in applying for the minority scholarships announced by the Central Government. The helpline will be run by the youth wing of the organization.
Students of Muslim and Christian communities studying in first to tenth standards and whose parents have an annual income below Rs 1 lakh can apply for the pre-matric scholarship. The helpline can be utilized to get the application form and to know other details of the scholarship programme. Your browser may not support display of this image.

“We concentrate on helping the students to get the scholarships they have a right to,” said A Shukoor, general secretary of the youth wing of the MES. “There are controversies regarding the scholarship, but we try to ensure that the students do not miss the scholarships. We help students get various scholarships like that of the IDB. The MES also gives scholarships to poor Muslim students and give them free education in the institutions run by it.”
