Centre takes seriously the attack on admin of Ajmer Dargah

New Delhi: Taking seriously the attack on the administrator of the Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti Dargah in Ajmer, the Central Governemnt has asked the Rajasthan Government to provide him with security immediately.

Ahmed Raza, the administrator appointed by the Central Government, was attacked last week by allegedly some Khadims of the Dargah. He was beaten up allegedly because he was removing encroachments put up by Khadims to set up security gadgets.

The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, which controls the Ajmer shrine, has sent a letter to the chief secretary of Rajasthan expressing concern on the incident and asking security for the administrator.

It is common knowledge that Khadims rule the shrine and its neighborhood using their muscle power. At several occasions they have been alleged of involving in corruptions and misusing the offerings at the Dargah.
