New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia, in collaboration with the National Book Trust, is organizing a nine-day long Delhi Book Festival. The festibal will be inaugurated at 11.00 am on August 1, 2009 by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Mushirul Hasan.
The festival opening program will feature Dr Saiyeda Sayeddain, Member, Planning Commission, GOI as the Chief Guest and Ms Nuzhat Hussain, IPS, Director, National Book Trust as president. The festival will be held in the grounds near Ansari Auditorium, JMI.
The Delhi Book Festival, the first of its kind organized by the NBT at JMI, shall have 76 participants from English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. The publishers, exhibiting over a lakh of books, shall be from all over the country. The festival will be open to the public from 1-9 August. The timings shall be 11.00 am till 9.00 pm.
