Four prisoners escape from Jharkhand hospital

Ranchi : Four prisoners undergoing treatment at a hospital here escaped Friday by breaking the window panes of the room where they were kept, the police said.

The four prisoners, two each from Ranchi and Simdega were admitted in the jail ward of Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), Ranchi. The prisoners were brought to RIMS few days ago for treatment, the police said.

The four prisoners who are under-trials were identified as Ravindra Kumar Singh and Ramvilas of Birsa Munda Central Jail in Ranchi and Jyoti Lagudi and Tej Narayan Gope of Simdega jail.

On Friday morning when a nurse went to give an injection to one the prisoners she found there was no one in the room. The window panes were broken. She informed the police about the escape of the prisoners.

Police have launched a search operation to nab the prisoners.

Last year a gangster and a murder convict Anil Sharma had escaped from RIMS, where he was admitted for treatment.
