Tehran : Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani here on Saturday blasted efforts to undermine support for Palestine, saying some were trying to replace genuine support for Palestine with fighting hypothetical enemies.
He made the remarks during a meeting with members of the headquarters of an international conference in support of the Palestinian nation which was held on March 4, 2009 in Tehran.
Larijani said some regional countries, too, were helping the trend by adopting inappropriate positions which led to deception of nations.
Quoting the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini who had said countries should be judged by the degree of the attention they pay to the issue of Palestine, he regretted that certain countries were trying to shift focus from the situation of Palestinian nation to other minor or non-existing issues.
Parliamentarian delegations from over 80 world countries took part in the international conference in support of Palestine.
